By now, it's no secret that my sister and I we are cheesecake's addicts. I have to say that I am so glad that it is now a culinary trend in France. I have had a few good ones but mostly I have been disappointed by most of them. It resulted in my desperate search for the best cheesecake of Paris and I have to say I FOUND IT! She's Cake by Sephora is a cute little Tearoom near Bastille and right next to le Port de l'Arsenal.
We actually were surprised to see that she did both savory and sweet cheesecakes. I was a bit skeptic about the savory ones but when I saw the price of the full lunch menu I said: go!
So the lunch menu included a cold soup, a savory cheesecake and a sweet one. All for 8.50 euros. Yep in Paris it is like a miracle. Since it's hotter than hot, I was excited to have gazpacho but I have to say that it was a let down. The soup for some reason had an unpleasant texture (more like salsa) and the flavors were not harmonious together. But when it was time to try my zucchini-goat cheese cheesecake, I forgot that I even had soup. It was light and creamy and not at all heavy or sticky like it can be sometime. No, it just melted in my mouth!
And for the grand finale, an incredible strawberry-lytchees cheesecake. We also tried the Mystery cheesecake which is nuts and toffee. It was pure ecstasy. I could have eaten another one, no prob.
The service was great. Sephora herself inquired about our experience a couple of times. We liked it so much that we bought her recipe book! People, I still dream about this cheesecake. It was insanely good. Best cheesecake in town, hands down!
